IN-OFFICE WHITENING
Even if you take great care of your teeth, they can still become discolored over time. Some people are genetically prone to yellowing teeth. Certain foods and drinks can stain teeth, such as coffee, wine, berries, sports drinks, and tomato juice. Smoking also leaves your teeth with brown stains.
Your toothpaste probably advertises its whitening component. However, toothpaste does not remain in contact with your teeth long enough to make a difference. There are also store-bought treatments available. But the best option is to get professional teeth whitening through your dentist’s office.
AT-HOME WHITENING
If you opt for in-office teeth whitening, your visit will last about 45 minutes. You simply lay in the chair while our staff coats your teeth in a special peroxide gel. This mixture penetrates deep into enamel, whitening your teeth by several shades. The procedure is so relaxing that you can listen to music or read a book while waiting for the gel to set in.
If you would rather choose at-home teeth whitening, you will be given specialized trays filled with whitening gel, which you will need to wear for a certain amount of time each day. After several weeks, the difference will become apparent.

Keep in mind that teeth whitening does not prevent your teeth from being re-stained. If you want to maintain your new shade, make sure to avoid smoking, plus the foods and drinks that tend to stain teeth.
